SHARZAD MICHAELS

Founder & 2003 UK Solicitor (N/P)

As the founder of HIME LEGAL, Sharzad is a seasoned UK qualified construction litigation lawyer, bringing extensive expertise to the legal arena. 

She began her legal career in the Corporate team at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, often being seconded to Miami, Paris and Brussels to work on corporate transactions. Sharzad later commenced her training contract with leading litigation firm, Weightmans, concentrating on Professional Indemnity and EL/PL disputes. 

Upon qualifying in 2003, Sharzad was headhunted by Greenwoods as an Associate in their Insurance and Construction Litigation team, frequently appearing in the RCJ and Technology and Construction Court. Eventually, she chose to transition out of the legal field and into Legal recruitment. 

Sharzad's initial headhunting position was with the prominent international recruitment firm Hays Legal, where she embarked on her new journey as an in-house legal recruiter, focusing on permanent placements for top international clients in the media, IT/Telco, and FMCG industries. The subsequent year, she was recruited by LAW Absolute in London, then a burgeoning start-up, drawn by the company's commitment to improving the temporary employment sector and fostering in-house business development. In this role, she successfully oversaw a diverse range of in-house legal placements and cultivated strong relationships with both clients and candidates over several years.

Throughout her career, Sharzad has built a strong reputation for her vibrant, friendly and approachable nature, making her a favourite among clients and candidates. This quality has allowed her to provide tailored, professional services while fostering enduring relationships with everyone involved in the recruitment process. She has successfully created solid Preferred Supplier Lists (PSLs) for many of the Top 200 law firms across the UK, as well as SME's, resulting in a steady stream of repeat business.

After taking a career break to have twins, Sharzad moved to Hong Kong, where she advanced her in-house legal headhunting career with the McNair Partnership, a specialized banking recruitment firm. There, she established a legal division while also raising her three young children. 

After several years, Sharzad returned to London and joined Artington Legal to rejuvenate her legal career, while also playing a significant role in the firm's recruitment and social media efforts. In 2022, she fully re-entered the legal headhunting sector as a Principal Consultant at Clifton Search, where she developed their private practice division, now known as 'Clifton Legal'. 

Following the successful development of a robust client portfolio, Sharzad, who possesses more than 15 years of experience in legal recruitment, made the decision to launch, HIME LEGAL. 

As a dedicated boutique firm, we concentrate solely on tailored legal staffing solutions. Our services include outsourcing assistance and helping law firms acquire vital resources. Furthermore, we offer comprehensive and discreet support to our candidates, emphasizing a pressure-free environment that allows them to feel at ease and supported during their job search.
